I started riding in 7th grade, growing up as the oldest of eight children money was tight so I got a job at the stables in order to help pay my way.
At 16 I started volunteering with Ebony Horsewomen Inc. an organization that helps inner-city youth. I quickly moved from volunteer to instructor, I had the opportunity to work with some amazing kids.
In addition to helping, run inner-city youth programs, summer camps, and therapeutic riding programs. I also taught private lessons to bring in money for the organization.
I worked at Maple View Farm where I had the opportunity to develop a thriving lesson program turning out local show champions. I worked there until my husband and I moved to Pittsburgh in 2006.
In 2006 my husband Avi and I moved to Pittsburgh and I began working for Durango Farms. I taught both group and private lessons, ran summer camp, coached at shows, and started a drill team. Sadly Durango Farms had to close their doors in 2007. On the bright side I was able to buy one of their fantastic lesson horses. Dreamer, is now part of the lesson horse team of Skybar Farm.
I started teaching at Skybar Farm in August 2007. I also will travel within one and a half hours of Pittsburgh to teach at your farm.
